In an established annual tradition, the San Antonio Ford Model T club, the "T Fords of Texas" go on a weekend long tour in the spring. This year's Spring Overnight Tour was based in Mason, Texas, up in the high Texas Hill Country. We drove about 170 miles over three days through an amazing display of spring flowers on fantastic and quiet roads, on routes created by the local Chamber of Commerce that locals had found to have the best wildflower displays. Lots of members helped to make the event special, supplying a taco bar in a rented pavilion on Friday, a sandwich style lunch at a wonderful rural church and a pancake breakfast in the hotel parking lot on Sunday morning. When some Ts broke down, members in modern cars were very helpful and appreciated. Some of the unpaved roads were tough going, but, in the true spirit of Model T rugged dependability, each one of the 16 Ts taking part made it back to base under its own power. A splendid weekend
