Texas T Party 2023
Thursday October 19

Day Outline

Pictures at the Fulton Mansion in the morning
Lunch and other activities at the Aransas County Airport
Evening activities at the Fairfield Inn
Farkle, Pinewood Derby, Cornhole, T discussions.

Today is tour pictures day. So, not much driving at all. But quite a few activities into the evening with plenty of time to explore Rockport itself. If you want to go for some gentle drives along the coast, go fishing, visit some museums and art galleries, go on some walks at the beach, parks or around the heritage district – see your goodie bags for walking tour information - or just some good old fashioned shopping at unique stores – see discount coupons also provided in your goodie bag – this is a good day for that.

8:45 AM    Drivers meeting at the Fairfield Inn. With so many Ts waiting in line for pictures, the local police have asked that we approach the mansion located at 317 S. Fulton Beach Road, via Fulton Avenue, which runs the very short distance from the Fairfield Inn to the shoreline. Our Ts will be blocking the beach road at the mansion for some time so local traffic will be directed by the police onto this street so please stay as close to the edge as possible to avoid blocking them.

9:00 AM    Picture taking will begin. At 3 minutes per car and up to 100 Ts expected, this process may take a few hours.

Remainder of morning    Tour provided coffee and donuts will be provided at the mansion visitor center located behind the mansion on Nancy Ann Street. Tours through the mansion will be available. The view from the state rooms on the upper levels is always amazing but when the horse shoe shaped driveway is filled with Model Ts, it will be spectacular.

12:30 PM     Hamburger style lunch in a hangar at the Aransas County Airport, paid for from tour proceeds.

Afternoon

Drone video and pics of all the Ts lined up side by side at the flight line at the airport.

Individual flights in a Stearman Biplane. One flight pre-arranged for Sandra Ruhhmann. One flight to be raffled off with the proceeds going to the airport’s youth involvement charity.

More flights available in the open cockpit biplane - $200 for 10 minutes - or a fully enclosed vintage 4 seater – 2 passenger minimum. Cost per person id #200 for a 30 minute flight.

Individual (take your own) picture opportunities with your Model T in front of a vintage aircraft near the terminal available at no charge.

Alternative Go for a drive along the coast, go fishing or hiking, or head to the heritage district in Rockport to go shopping, museums and art galleries.

Evening

Various activities are planned at the Fairfield Inn. The tour is not supplying food, so make sure you go out to eat first. The Fairfield does have a bar. Activities will include a Farkle Tournament. Farkle is a classic dice game. There will also be Pinewood Derby races and corn hole games outside near the pool. Depending on the level of interest, there may also be a “Model T Maintenance Round Robin Session, where people can ask questions about how to keep their Model T running well. The session will be moderated by Daniel Bratcher, owner/operator of “Timeless Ts.”
