12:00 Noon     Parade through the Rockport Heritage District
12:30 PM     Lunch at the Rockpert railroad depot museum

Exiting Rockport

9:00 AM – Depart from hotels

Head south on Business 35. This becomes Broadway where the road becomes divided. No turn required.

Turn left at traffic lights at the Hoopes House – large yellow historic structure - into the Heritage District. You are still on Broadway at this point.

Rockport Heritage District


Broadway becomes N. Austin Street. No turn required. You are now going through the Heritage District.

Take a left onto Market Street at the traffic lights. Look for the Bayside Motel which occupies the block until you get to the shore line.

Turn right on Water Street. This is a restricted speed, one way street.

Turn right onto 3rd Street at a distinctive octagonal house at the very far end of Water Street.


Turn left onto E. Church Street and pass the American Legion, painted blue, on your right. As Church Street goes along it become Loop 70. No turns required.

Turn left onto Business 35 near K & P Fabrication. Business 35 is a busy two lane road. We will be on this road for several miles.

Turn right on HWY 188 at a Shell gas station. We will be on this busy road for several miles, going under TX 35. Turn right at a stop sign onto HWY 1069 near the Trinity Baptist Church. We will be on this road for several miles.

Turn left onto HWY 1781, second turn after passing Hardly Dangerous Automotive, which has a distinctive skull on its signage by the road

Go straight on 1781

Turn RIGHT at stop sign by Hoots Country Kitchen to stay on 1781

Turn LEFT at stop sign in front of sea green apartments to stay on 1781

Stay on 1781 which wanders towards Copano Bay and the back side of the airport. No turns required until it ends at HWY 35.

Turn left onto HWY 35 at stop sign. Cross long and high causeway.

Turn right onto Main Street at an Exxon gas station.

Go straight at stop sign at Park Road 138 / Palmetto Street.

Go left at water’s edge onto Lamar Beach Road. No choice

Turn left onto 12th Street. Again, no choice available.


The “Big Tree” is on the right after a short distance. Look for the large parking area.

Return to Rockport from Goose Island


Head north – away from shore line – on 12th Street

Turn Left into Palmetto Street at stop sign

Turn right onto Main Street at stop sign

Turn left onto HWY 35 at Exxon gas station

Cross long, high causeway bridge

Turn left (the second left after the bridge) onto N. Fulton Beach Road, just after the Bay View RV resort. There is a big billboard saying Fulton Beach at the turn, just after it. If you miss the turn just take the next left (Sail House Way) and follow it to the shore line and turn right.)

Stay on Fulton Beach Road for four or five miles.

Turn right at a T junction at the water’s edge. You are still on N. Fulton Beach Road which will become Broadway. No turn required.

Take a right onto Maple Street at Yarbaritas. Look for its colorful sign.


Some local dignitaries may need to get a ride in Model Ts in the upcoming mini-parade through the heritage area. Exactly how this will happen will be announced at the start of the day.

Turn Left onto HWY 35 / Broadway at the traffic lights.

Turn left at traffic lights at the Hoopes House – large yellow historic structure into Heritage District. Same turn as earlier in the day. You are still on Broadway at this point.


Parade through the Rockport Heritage District


Broadway becomes N. Austin Street. No turn required. You are now going through the historic district.

Turn right onto Market Street at the traffic lights.

Turn right onto N. Magnolia Street after one block.


The Rockport Railroad Depot museum will be on your left. 101 N. Magnolia Street.

A sandwich lunch will be served here.
